The LC 500 features the proven, high-revving, naturally aspirated 5.0-litre V8 found in the RC F and GS F. Selected for its smooth, linear throttle response and emotional engine sound, the V8 is an all-aluminium, 32-valve power plant with its dual intake inlet improving breathing, allowing the engine to produce its fantastic sound. Helping power transfer to the rear wheels is a newly developed 10-speed automatic transmission with shift times rivalling those of a dual-clutch transmission. The new Multi Stage Hybrid System powering the LC 500h marries all the elements of a traditional full hybrid power train – including a 3.5-litre V6 petrol engine, a powerful electric motor and a lithium-ion battery pack, to a rear-mounted four-speed automatic gearbox. The electric motor responds more rapidly to throttle inputs   than a conventional engine, resulting in an exhilarating sub-five second acceleration to 100km/h. N E W M O D E L
