PHOTOZONE OTHER GREAT SUBMISSIONS 66 4 // Ballerina: We were sitting in a hide in the Marievale Bird Sanctuary photographing water birds when this little malachite kingfisher appeared and gave us a show. It was only later, when I looked through the images, that I saw how it was standing upright like a ballerina. LOUISE VICTOR, NIGEL 5 // Sprinting for the hunt: My wife Louise and I visited Etosha National Park in Namibia for the first time in our Land Cruiser. It has always been a dream to go there and we were rewarded with amazing scenes, including this memorable one where a cheetah is going in for the kill. The image captures the cheetah’s first step out of the long grass on the way to his lunch. JOHNNY BRESLER, JOHANNESBURG 6 // Levitate: Who says a zebra can’t fly? This image, taken at a lodge close to Bela Bela, reveals that they can. HANCHO OLIVIER, BELA BELA 7 // Colour extravaganza: A moth sitting down in a strelitzia forms a colourful display on the dark background of the night. LEON PELSER, KRIEL 4 6 7 5
